Online Basics



Course includes:
  • Logging onto a computer
  • Registering and logging into websites
  • Internet safety - learn how to use the internet safely. The course covers email safety, making credit card payments on the internet for online shopping, child safety and how to keep your personal data safe online
  • Using the internet - learn all about browsing the internet. Using a web browser to view websites, creating bookmarks and what copyright means online.
  • Using email - how to set-up an email account, as well as how to open, read and send emails safely.
  • Using search engines - learn how to search for things on the internet using search engines such as Google, how to search for websites, using bookmarks and saving images and other files
  • Accessing health services online - how to find health advice online and find your local health services like GPs and hospitals, how to register with a GP surgery online and how to apply for repeat prescriptions online and how to look up your health records. 
  • *Jobhunting Online module can be included for those who are interested
This course is ideal for anyone who has:

Accredited Courses in Microsoft Office Applications

KCLC is an OCR accredited centre, and delivers the ITQ (Information Technology Qualification).  Students need to complete 3 Units to gain the full ITQ or can get a certificate in individual modules.

Not everybody wants or needs a qualification, sometimes you just want to learn something new. So if you  want to learn how to use a computer, the internet or how to use Microsoft Office without taking an exam you can!
