Help with managing your finance
KCLC is proud to announce our involvement in a brand new initiative - Better Off Finance
Better Off Finance is open to anyone who has the right to live and work in the UK and is not currently in employment.
Better off Finance is a partnership of local advice organisations that can help you:
- Deal with money worries
- Build skills and confidence to manage money in the future
- Explore your options when looking to get back into work
- Help you access training and support to put this into practice
As a partner in the project, KCLC will have a designated Citizens Advice Bureau Key Worker that will take time to understand the help you need and create a personal programme of advice, support and training. We help you deal with money worries, taking direct action and referring to specialist support when this will help. We look at ways you can improve money management in the future, and help you take action to do this. We also help you access support to improve your job prospects. This includes help from our partners WEA and the Women's organisation. We will work at your pace and offer independent, impartial and confidential support.
Money Management: we will help you to:
- Check your income and deal with benefit issues
- Understand your household budget
- Find out about ways to save money including Credit Unions
- Help you open a new bank account or manage your current one
- Set up direct debits and standing orders
- Use online comparision sites to lower your bills
- Switch energy supplier or mobile phone provider
Improving Employability: we will help you to:
- Recognise your skills
- Set your own personal goals
- Access training opportunities
- Explore volunteering opportunities
- Increase your confidence
- Develop your CV
