Pick & Mix


KCLC's Pick & Mix is a unique way of learning. With 10 smaller units to choose from - YOU design your course based on what YOU want/need to learn to improve your confidence, skills, and chances of gaining employment.

Entry requirements:
Be unemployed or economically inactive
Be 19 years of age or over.
Be legally resident in the UK
Be able to take up paid employment in a European member state

Free ESOL Courses


Free ESOL courses from beginners up to level 2 for asylum seekers and refugees (see entry requirements below)
  
How long is the course?
10 weeks, students must be able to commit to the full 10 week course

What will I learn?
Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening English at an appropriate level

Is there an Exam?
No 

Entry requirements: 
  • Asylum seeker: In the UK a person who has not yet received a decision on their asylum application
  • Refugee: A person who has been granted leave to stay
  • Vulnerable migrant: Any migrant whose immigration status makes them vulnerable
If you are not eligible for this course you will be signposted to a more suitable course.

Referral Process:

Self referral - Come along to the centre Monday- Friday 10am - 4pm and complete the application and assessment. You will then talk to an ESOL adviser who will be able to tell you what days your class is on for your level of English. Although the ESOL advisors try to see people straight away, it may be necessary at busy times to make an appointment.

You must bring documents confirming proof of status to take part in this course.
You can bring someone with you to support/translate if you wish.

Money My Way

Using a programme of safe and trusted online resources, we can help you with everything from internet banking or dealing with money troubles to budgeting, saving and more. If you’re not confident using computers or you’re worried about online safety, don’t worry. We’ll make sure you have all the help you need to find the right tools and support for your situation and level of experience.
